 DEMOCRATIC VOTER REGISTRATION SUPERVISOR – JOB DESCRIPTION

                       DUTIES

 Reports to the Chief Deputy Clerk of Elections, Trisha Carrico

Works with the Election Clerk in managing all functions of the office, including, but not limited to:

  1. Processing Voter Registration applications in INSVRS by all Federal and State laws.
  2. Maintaining a computer list of all vote center workers.
  3. Processing requests for voter information for the public.
  4. Informing candidates of available voter registration information.
  5. Training all new employees.
  6. Attending the Clerk Association and IVRA meetings and training.
  7. Adding new streets to the database after consulting with various departments and USPS.
  8. Assigning security rights within INSVRS to multiple individuals within the office and the County.
  9. Canceling voters (Deceased, Disfranchised, and Transfers).
  10. Procuring necessary supplies.
  11. Attending appropriate government meetings.
  12. Attending Election Board meetings and assisting the EB as needed.
  13. Coordinating with the Indiana Election Division in the implementation of Federal and State Election Law.
  14. Processing and certifying petitions.
  15. Identifying and helping to secure polling locations.
  16. Directing deputies in the daily functions of their positions; and
  17. Delegating responsibilities at the discretion of the Supervisor.

JOB REQUIREMENTS AND DIFFICULTY OF WORK

  1. Must be registered to vote in the State of Indiana
  2. Ability to deal with the public in a courteous and effective manner
  3. Basic computer knowledge and the ability to type accurately
  4. Ability to speak in front of groups
  5. Help to enforce the 6-week blackout period before an election

  1. Welcome and encourage candidates of all parties
  2. Working weekends and evenings during election time
  3. Maintain an amiable working environment for all employees

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT

  1. Standard office environment requiring normal physical abilities
  2. Ability to work in a bipartisan setting
