DEMOCRATIC VOTER REGISTRATION SUPERVISOR – JOB DESCRIPTION
DUTIES
Reports to the Chief Deputy Clerk of Elections, Trisha Carrico
Works with the Election Clerk in managing all functions of the office, including, but not limited to:
- Processing Voter Registration applications in INSVRS by all Federal and State laws.
- Maintaining a computer list of all vote center workers.
- Processing requests for voter information for the public.
- Informing candidates of available voter registration information.
- Training all new employees.
- Attending the Clerk Association and IVRA meetings and training.
- Adding new streets to the database after consulting with various departments and USPS.
- Assigning security rights within INSVRS to multiple individuals within the office and the County.
- Canceling voters (Deceased, Disfranchised, and Transfers).
- Procuring necessary supplies.
- Attending appropriate government meetings.
- Attending Election Board meetings and assisting the EB as needed.
- Coordinating with the Indiana Election Division in the implementation of Federal and State Election Law.
- Processing and certifying petitions.
- Identifying and helping to secure polling locations.
- Directing deputies in the daily functions of their positions; and
- Delegating responsibilities at the discretion of the Supervisor.
JOB REQUIREMENTS AND DIFFICULTY OF WORK
- Must be registered to vote in the State of Indiana
- Ability to deal with the public in a courteous and effective manner
- Basic computer knowledge and the ability to type accurately
- Ability to speak in front of groups
- Help to enforce the 6-week blackout period before an election
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Welcome and encourage candidates of all parties
- Working weekends and evenings during election time
- Maintain an amiable working environment for all employees
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Standard office environment requiring normal physical abilities
- Ability to work in a bipartisan setting
