The Network Administrator/Engineer supports, secures, and advances St. Joseph County’s enterprise and operational technology (OT) network infrastructure. This role is responsible for maintaining reliable network operations, implementing modernization initiatives, and ensuring compliance with cybersecurity and regulatory standards. The position requires strong technical expertise, sound judgment, and the ability to collaborate across departments.

Responsibilities

 

Install, configure, secure and maintain LAN/WAN infrastructure across both IT and OT environments.

 

Deploy and manage Cisco and Meraki routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points.

 

Maintain physical network infrastructure, including cabling, racks, UPS systems and PDUs, following data center best practices.

 

Configure and manage network security technologies (firewalls, VPNs, AAA/RADIUS, DNS security) and core network services (DHCP, DNS, NTP).

 

Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize network performance; provide Tier 2 support and coordinate escalation for complex issues.

Education/Experience

 

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.

 

Must be a U.S. Citizen or National.
