Position: Republican Deputy of Elections and Voter Registration
DUTIES
Reports to the Chief Deputy Clerk of Elections, Trisha Carrico
Works with the Election Clerk in managing all functions of the office, including, but not limited to:
- Processing Voter Registration applications in INSVRS by all Federal and State laws.
- Maintaining a computer list of all vote center workers.
- Processing requests for voter information for the public.
- Informing candidates of available voter registration information.
- Coordinating with the Indiana Election Division in the implementation of Federal and State Election Law.
- Processing and certifying petitions.
- Identifying and helping to secure vote center locations.
- Maintain an alphabetical card file of all registered voters and recently deceased or transferred voters.
- Maintaining an alphabetical file of Voter Registration declinations.
- Performing regular Voter List Maintenance duties.
JOB REQUIREMENTS AND DIFFICULTY OF WORK
- Must be registered to vote in the State of Indiana
- Ability to deal with the public in a courteous and effective manner
- Basic computer knowledge and the ability to type accurately
- Comply with the 6-week blackout period before an election
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Welcome and encourage candidates of all parties
- Working weekends and evenings during election time
- Maintain an amiable working environment for all employees
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Standard office environment requiring normal physical abilities
- Ability to work in a bipartisan setting
