DUTIES:

 Answertelephone inquiries of the public and directing calls as needed.

 Greetwalk in inquiries and direct persons to the Records Division.

 Monitorthe magnetometer and check security issues as weapons are not allowed beyondthe front tower.

 Maintainlogs of visitors including but not limited to Attorneys, Visitation,Physicians, Law Enforcement Agencies and Court Appointed Advocates.

 Verifyinmate releases from the Jail and maintain a log of same.

 Checkand verify warrants and court orders for persons turning themselves in andnotify the booking division for detention.

 Verifyand accepts inmate bonds (cash, credit, and bail bond).

 Issuereceipts and maintain bond logs.

 Otherduties as assigned.

 

I.  JOBREQUIREMENTS AND DIFFICULTY OF WORK:

 Highschool diploma or HSE.

 Abilityto meet all hiring and retention requirements, including passage of a drug testand background check.

 Workingknowledge of goals, objectives, tasks, and activities of the Department, andability to accomplish tasks and activities with accuracy and completeness andmeet formal deadlines.

 Workingknowledge and experience with standard office procedures and computer software(Microsoft word and Excel) and systems used by the Department, including wordprocessing, spreadsheets, and email.

 Workingknowledge of standard English grammar, spelling, and punctuation and ability toprepare various detailed reports. Bilingual a plus but not required.

 Abilityto properly operate standard office equipment, including computer, calculator,copier, scanner, basic math skills and telephone.

 Abilityto effectively communicate orally and in writing with co-workers, other Countydepartments, County employees, and the public, including being sensitive toprofessional ethics, gender, cultural diversities, and disabilities.

 Abilityto provide public access to, or maintain confidentiality of, Departmentinformation and records according to state requirements.

 Shallcomply with employer and Department policies and work rules, including, but notlimited to, attendance, safety, drug-free workplace, and personal conduct.

 Abilityto understand, memorize, retain, and carry out written and oral instructionsand present findings in oral or written form.

 Abilityto file, post, mail materials and copy data from one document to another. 

 

 Ability to work with othersin a team environment and work on several tasks at the same time, often undertime pressure.

 II.  RESPONSIBILITY: Incumbent’spriorities are primarily determined by supervisor with assignments performedaccording to specific detailed instructions. Decisions are always determined byspecific instructions or existing, well-established policies and procedures. Workerrors are primarily detected or prevented through notifications from otherdepartments or the public. Undetected work errors could result in loss of timeto correct errors and work delays in other departments.

 

III.  PERSONALWORK RELATIONSHIPSIncumbent maintains frequent contact with co-workers, otherCounty departments, County employees, and the public, for the purpose of givingand receiving information.

 

 

IV.  PHYSICALEFFORT AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Incumbentperforms duties in a standard office environment, involving sitting/walking atwill, sitting for long periods, lifting/carrying objects weighing up to 50pounds, bending, reaching, keyboarding, speaking clearly, close vision,handling/grasping objects, and hearing sounds/communication.
