POSITION: Chief Deputy - Finance

WORK SCHEDULE: M-F 8:00AM-4:30PM
JOB CATEGORY: Exempt
SALARY: Up to $60,000 annually
STATUS: Full-time
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or Accounting preferred.
- Five years of finance experience required.
Requirements:
- Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, accuracy, and efficiency.
- Public service orientation and commitment to excellent and genuine customer service.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn payroll software.
- Thorough knowledge of payroll tax and compliance standards.
Essential Job Duties:
Working under the direct supervision of the County Clerk, the person in this position will perform the following:
- Reviews and manages departmental payroll and timekeeping records to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with county policies and procedures.
- Monitors and processes departmental accounts payable activities, including invoices, reimbursements, and vendor payments.
- Assists with departmental budget preparation, expenditure tracking, and financial reporting activities.
- Supports grant research, grant application preparation, and monitoring of grant expenditures and reporting requirements.
- Coordinates with Human Resources, department leadership, and staff regarding payroll, budgeting, grant, and financial matters.
- Corresponds and problem solves in a professional manner with staff, co-workers, department leadership, vendors, and outside agencies.
- Other duties as assigned.
